Easy Three Ingredient Side Dish – Figs, Goat Cheese & Honey

There are some flavor combinations that are simply written in the stars. Sweet and salty. Creamy and earthy. Rich and tangy.

If you are looking for an effortlessly elegant dish that checks every single one of those boxes, look no further than fresh figs, goat cheese, and raw honey.

This three-ingredient masterpiece is proof that you don’t need a complicated recipe to create a gourmet experience. It is all about letting high-quality, seasonal ingredients do the heavy lifting.

While any raw honey will add sweetness to this dish, we crafted this recipe specifically to highlight our coveted Meadowfoam Honey.

When you drizzle Meadowfoam honey over fresh goat cheese, something incredible happens. The intense, marshmallow-like sweetness of the honey cuts right through the tangy, salty sharpness of the cheese, creating a perfectly balanced, velvety bite that lingers on your palate.

Prep time: 5 minutes | Cook time: 0 minutes | Servings: 2–4

Ingredients:

  • 8–10 fresh, ripe figs
  • 4 oz soft, fresh goat cheese (softened)
  • 2–3 tablespoons of our Meadowfoam Honey
  • Flaky sea salt (like Maldon)
  • Optional: Fresh thyme leaves, toasted pistachios, and/or sea salt for garnish

Instructions

  1. Gently wipe your fresh figs clean with a damp paper towel. Slice off the woody stem at the top, then cut each fig in half lengthwise.
  2. Place the fig halves cut-side up on your serving platter. Use a small spoon or butter knife to spread a generous dollop (about a teaspoon) of creamy goat cheese onto the center of each fig half.
  3. Pour your Meadowfoam Honey into a slow, artistic drizzle over the top of the goat cheese and figs. Let it pool beautifully around the edges.
