Colonies are building up and the blackberry bloom is not far away. Come learn how to prepare your overwintered colonies or new nucs for the biggest honey flow of the year. When do you want to add boxes? Do you need an upper entrance? Should you start assessing or treating for mites? Should you feed sugar water? Learn how to read the honeybees and what they need.
You will need to bring the following:
- Bee Suit Full Coveralls and Gloves – REQUIRED
- Hive Tool
- Bee Brush
- Lunch/snacks/water
You may also be required to lift heavy bee boxes. We will provide the rest of the tools that are needed, smokers etc.
Note: If you do not have a full coverall (no jackets or veils) bee suit and gloves you will not be allowed to participate in the class and will not receive a refund. If you need a suit, we have them for purchase at our store.
The cost of this class will be $80 per session and is NON-REFUNDABLE due to the fact that it is a small class & fills up fast. This class will be taught by Danny Najera. We only have room for 10 people per class, so if you’d like to join us, please stop by the store a soon as possible to sign up or call 425-432-1213.
