Hello Everyone,
On Saturday, March 12th from 9am – 11am we will be presenting  Beekeeping 203 – Hive Organization.

In this class we will cover the basics of colony organization.  Where do honeybees want to store their brood?  What about the honey?  First we will start off with a brief lecture, view images, and then we will utilize this knowledge to assess and manage a live colony.  If the weather is not favorable, we will look at more slides to guide our understanding of colony organization throughout the year.  Special care will be given to focus on identification of parts, quantifying those parts, and then choosing a management strategy.  This is important to help guide the honeybees towards the production you want.

Please note, we will assume that the weather will be favorable, so you’re required to have protective beekeeping gear for this course.

The course fee is $40 and will be held at the Bees in the ‘Burbs store complex (28634 Maple Valley Black Diamond Road SE, Maple Valley 98038). Please call or stop by the store to sign up.

Warm regards,
Norm Holcomb
