To all our friends, Happy National Honey Month!

The month of September is set aside to highlight all things honey and bees, and we’re happy to support the celebration by inviting two of our favorite honey and bee supporters to join us next Saturday at the Kent Farmers Market.

Doris Mech, a Maple Valley resident and longtime beekeeper, is well known for her love of honey and for being a fixture at Pike Place Market selling honey since 1974. She will be with us and available to sign her much beloved cookbook, Joy with Honey, and share tips and trivia on all sorts of uses of honey.

We’ll also be joined by Danny Najera who will be on hand to share his extensive knowledge and experience on beekeeping. Danny teaches Biology at Green River Community College and has taught our popular series of beekeeping courses at Bees in the ‘Burbs. He has a great passion for sustaining beekeeping and we’re fairly certain can answer any question you might have about it.

We, of course, will be there with all our honey and bee products. Please join us this Saturday, September 13th at the Kent Farmers Market.

The Kent Farmers Market is located in the “Town Square Plaza” at the major intersections of 2nd Ave & Smith St in downtown Kent.  Market hours are 9am – 2 pm.
