Saturday April 30th 1 pm – 5 pm

We have an awesome opportunity for 10 people join us for a day of beekeeping!

 Come join us as we take care of our colonies and prepare them for the blackberry flow.  This means assessing their efficiency and checking their mites.  If you are looking to learn about when to add boxes, when to split, how to equalize your hives, and when the blackberries are coming, this is the class for you.  We will work on two different aperies.

The cost of this class will be $50 per session & will be taught by Danny Najera. 

 We will meet at Bees in the ‘Burbs at 12:45pm.  28634 Maple Valley Black Diamond Rd. SE, Maple Valley, Wa 98038

 You will need to bring the following:

•Lunch/drinks
•Bee Suit (Full Coverall with Veil) & Gloves
•Hive Tool
•Bee Brush

You may also be required to lift heavy bee boxes. We will provide the rest of the tools that are needed, smokers etc,

About Danny.  A Kent-Meridian graduate, and Oklahoma native, Danny Najera earned his Bachelors and PhD from the University of Kansas and considers himself a scientist (Entomologist and Ecologist) and a teacher. He has taught at several colleges and universities, including the University of Kansas, and is currently instructing at Green River Community College. Danny is on the board of trustees for the Puget Sound Keepers Association and is married with two kids.
