We will have two sessions that will both focus on swarm management and checking on when to super. At this time of year we will have some of the larger honey flows showing up. As you drive in be sure to look at the relative amount of blackberry flowers that have bloomed and those that are still budding.
The cost of this class will be $50 per session and will be taught by Danny Najera.
We will meet at the store (28634 Maple Valley Black Diamond Rd SE, Black Diamond WA 98035, check in time for the first group will be 9:30 and 1:00 for the second group. You will need to bring the following:
•Lunch/drinks
•Bee Suit
•Hive Tool
•Bee Brush
You may also be required to lift heavy bee boxes.
We will provide the rest of the tools that are needed, smokers etc,

About Danny. A Kent-Meridian graduate, and Oklahoma native, Danny Najera earned his Bachelors and PhD from the University of Kansas and considers himself a scientist (Entomologist and Ecologist) and a teacher. He has taught at several colleges and universities, including the University of Kansas, and is currently instructing at Green River Community College. Danny is on the board of trustees for the Puget Sound Keepers Association and is married with two kids.
