Beekeeping 401: Beekeeper for a day!

 Sunday, September 6th 9am – 12:30 pm at Green Water (meet either at the store at 8am or Green Water at 8:45am to be let in the gate) Take hwy 410 East about 18 miles from our store turn right after mile marker 32 and there will be a yellow gate.      OR

Sunday, September 6th 2pm – 4:30pm Kent (meet at the gate on the corner of 64th Ave S and S 226th St).         

  • REQUIRED: Bee Suit (Full Coverall with Veil), Gloves & FACEMASK, we have masks for those who need one.

We have an awesome opportunity for 10 people (per class) to join us for a day of beekeeping!

It’s time to winterize.

How much honey do they need?  How many bees do you need? Are the diseases low?  Get the inside scoop here!

The cost of this class will be $55 per session and is NON-REFUNDABLE due to the fact that it is a small class & fills up fast.  This class will be taught by Danny Najera.

You will need to bring the following:
•Lunch/drinks
•Bee Suit
•Hive Tool
•Bee Brush

You may also be required to lift heavy bee boxes.

We will provide the rest of the tools that are needed, smokers etc,

PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE CLASS WITHOUT A FULL COVERALL WITH A VEIL!  We have Suits available at our store.

A Kent-Meridian graduate, and Oklahoma native, Danny Najera earned his Bachelors and PhD from the University of Kansas and considers himself a scientist (Entomologist and Ecologist) and a teacher. He has taught at several colleges and universities, including the University of Kansas, and is currently instructing at Green River College.
