Beekeeping 401: Beekeeper for a day!

 March 19th 9am – 11am Mt. Si Nursery – North Bend AND

 March 19th 12:00 – 2:00pm Rockridge Orchards – Enumclaw

•REQUIRED: Bee Suit (Full Coverall with Veil) & Gloves

We have an awesome opportunity for 10 people (per class) to join us for a day of beekeeping!

Time to get the honeybees ready for spring; think of this as unwinterizing. Here we will be quick with our inspections as the colonies are small, but need to assess the food stores and brood situation. After assessment we need to make management decisions on whether to condense to one box, rotate boxes, or maybe even split! This type of hands on learning will get you to becoming a great beekeeper very quickly. We will also discuss the theory as we go in terms of why we even make these management decisions.

The cost of this class will be $50 per session and is NON-REFUNDABLE due to the fact that it is a small class & fills up fast.

This class will be taught by Danny Najera.

You will need to bring the following:
•Lunch/drinks
•Bee Suit
•Hive Tool
•Bee Brush

You may also be required to lift heavy bee boxes.

We will provide the rest of the tools that are needed, smokers etc,

PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE CLASS WITHOUT A FULL COVERALL WITH A VEIL!  We have Suits available at our store.

We only have room for 10 people per class, so if you’d like to join us please stop by the store a soon as possible to sign up or call 425-432-1213.
