We have an awesome opportunity for 10 people per class to join us for a day of beekeeping!

1st class:  Pollen Trap removal & Honey super reduction

It’s time to pull the rest of the honey supers & take off the pollen traps as the honeybees prepare for winter.  Get your experience in assessing population size & understanding the reduction of the brood nest.

2nd class: Mite checks & Winterizing

As winter approaches we need to make sure the honeybees are going in as healthy as possible.  If there are mites in high numbers, the overwintering cluster will be weak & unable to generate the heat needed to survive.  In addition, this is a good time to condense boxes & rearrange hives to maximize overwintering success.

The cost of this class will be $50 and is NON-REFUNDABLE.  The class will be taught by Danny Najera.

You will need to bring the following:

•Snacks/drinks
•Bee Suit (Full Coverall with Veil) & Gloves

The class is non-refundable due to the fact that it is a small class & fills up very fast.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE CLASS WITHOUT A FULL COVERALL WITH A VEIL!  We have Suits available at our store.
•Hive Tool
•Bee Brush

You may also be required to lift heavy bee boxes. We will provide the rest of the tools that are needed, smokers etc,

We only have room for 10 people per class, so if you’d like to join us please stop by the store a soon as possible to sign up.

Warm regards,
