Saturday May 22nd –  Build up your Nucs class!

If you have a nuc and want to know how to improve their chances, this is the class for you. We will look at a series of hives that were installed this year and decide how to build them up. The primary focuses will be on when to add the second box and how to add that second box. We will also be mite testing so this will be a great opportunity to get your experience on how to handle mites.

Sunday May 23rd – Splitting class and honey production class

Got overwintered colonies building up really fast? Here are some options to keep them from swarming and keep them going. We will split a few colonies and choose which ones are ready. We will have some colonies already split to see what will happen when we do it. We will also perform a queen isolation on another colony to bump up the honey production without worrying as much about swarming. In addition we will check for mites to get the ball rolling on our testing.

The cost of this class will be $55 per session and is NON-REFUNDABLE due to the fact that it is a small class & fills up fast.  This class will be taught by Danny Najera.

You will need to bring the following:
•Lunch/drinks
•Bee Suit
•Hive Tool
•Bee Brush

You may also be required to lift heavy bee boxes.

We will provide the rest of the tools that are needed, smokers etc,

PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE CLASS WITHOUT A FULL COVERALL WITH A VEIL!  We have Suits available at our store.

We only have room for 10 people per class, so if you’d like to join us please stop by the store a soon as possible to sign up or call 425-432-1213.
