Beekeeping 401: Beekeeper for a day! 

Sunday July 17th 9am – ?

•REQUIRED: Bee Suit (Full Coverall with Veil) & Gloves

We have an awesome opportunity for 10 people per class to join us for a day of beekeeping!

This time we will be doing queen installs.  We will be hitting all of the apiaries, replacing queens that are struggling and make sure all the hives have queens.  We will also be pulling honey as we go around and fixing any issue with leaning colonies.

The cost of this class will be $50 and is NON-REFUNDABLE.  The class will be taught by Danny Najera. 

We will meet at Bees in the ‘Burbs.  28634 Maple Valley Black Diamond Rd. SE, Maple Valley, WA 98038.

 You will need to bring the following:

•Snacks/drinks
•Bee Suit (Full Coverall with Veil) & Gloves The class is non-refundable due to the fact that it is a small class & fills up very fast.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE CLASS WITHOUT A FULL COVERALL WITH A VEIL!  We have Suits available at our store.
•Hive Tool
•Bee Brush

You may also be required to lift heavy bee boxes. We will provide the rest of the tools that are needed, smokers etc,

About Danny.  A Kent-Meridian graduate, and Oklahoma native, Danny Najera earned his Bachelors and PhD from the University of Kansas and considers himself a scientist (Entomologist and Ecologist) and a teacher. He has taught at several colleges and universities, including the University of Kansas, and is currently instructing at Green River Community College. Danny is on the board of trustees for the Puget Sound Keepers Association and is married with two kids.
